Woodland & Forest in Norwich
There's only one proper woodland trip listed for Norwich, and it's a longer trip out to Brandon: Thetford Forest's High Lodge site. It's East Anglia's big forest, with trails through the pines and an outdoor play area for kids to burn about on once they've had enough walking. There's a cafe and toilets on site too, which makes the drive easier to justify with a family in tow. Parking is charged, so budget for that before you set off. It's not a spot for a quick after-school visit given the distance, but it earns a full morning or afternoon, especially if you pack a picnic for the picnic area and let the dog come along, since it's dog friendly. Younger children will manage the play area happily while older ones head off on the longer trails.
