Splash Parks & Paddling Pools in Leeds

Leeds doesn't have splash parks as such, but there are pools that do the job nicely. Kirkstall Leisure Centre, close to the centre, runs family splash sessions and swimming lessons, with an inflatable obstacle course for the over-eights bolted on. Bramley Baths, a bit further out, is the one for proper lessons, taking kids from first splashes through to confident lengths. For an outdoor day, it's a drive out to Ilkley, where the lido lets kids swim and picnic by the water from May to October. For toddlers, Kirkstall's splash sessions are the gentler option, and entry there starts from £3.15. Older kids will get more out of the obstacle course or a trip to Ilkley, where tickets start from £3.25 but you'll want to check the season dates before you go, since it's outdoors and unheated. Bramley Baths suits anyone wanting structured lessons rather than a splash about. Ilkley also has a cafe and picnic area if you fancy making a day of it.
