The Monkey's Paw

A spooky new theatrical thriller about a Victorian family and a sinister wish-granting toy monkey, recommended for ages 8 and up.

The Monkey's Paw brings W.W. Jacobs' classic supernatural tale to the stage at The House of Lawrence, following a Victorian family who move into a secluded house and discover a strange toy monkey with one paw missing. It seems harmless at first, but the monkey is said to grant wishes at a cost, and once the wishes start coming true the family find themselves caught up in something they can't escape. Adapted by Adam J Lawrence, the production is packed with pyrotechnics, special effects and illusions to build a genuinely tense, edge-of-your-seat atmosphere. It's suitable for families, with a recommended age of 8 and over given the spooky themes and stage effects. The show runs from 28th October to 1st November 2026 at The House of Lawrence in Stoke-on-Trent.
