Hepworth and Nicholson: The Hampstead Studio Photographs
Courtesy of The Courtauld Gallery

A display of behind-the-scenes photographs from Barbara Hepworth and Ben Nicholson's London studio, at The Courtauld Gallery.
This display takes you behind the scenes of the Hampstead studio shared by sculptor Barbara Hepworth and painter Ben Nicholson, two of the leading figures of British modernism. Through photographs of the space where they lived and worked, it offers a glimpse into their creative partnership and everyday working life. It's part of The Courtauld Gallery's ongoing programme of focused displays, housed in the gallery at Somerset House alongside the main collection. The display ran from 6 June to 4 October 2026, so this run has now finished; check the gallery's listings for what's showing next.
