The Very Hungry Caterpillar™ trail

Follow The Very Hungry Caterpillar trail around Sudbury's Children's Country House this autumn.

Head out into the museum, hall and garden at The Children's Country House at Sudbury and follow a trail inspired by Eric Carle's much-loved book The Very Hungry Caterpillar. It's a chance to explore the grounds while spotting the caterpillar's story unfold along the way, running daily from 2 October to 2 November 2026, 10am to 4pm. Entry to the site includes admission to Sudbury Hall, Museum and Garden, with child tickets from £11.00 and adult tickets at £22.00 without Gift Aid (Gift Aid pricing is also available, and entry is free for National Trust members). There's a café on site for snacks and drinks, plus a second-hand bookshop and plenty of space for a picnic in the grounds if you want to make a day of it.
