Scottish Ensemble and piper Brìghde Chaimbeul blend string orchestra with Scottish smallpipes and film visuals.

Scottish Ensemble teams up with Celtic musician Brìghde Chaimbeul for a cross-genre concert that pulls a string orchestra's familiar sounds into new territory, built around the distinctive drone of the Scottish smallpipes. The programme draws on the folklore and history of Skye, taking in traditional Gaelic waulking songs, the eerie tale of the Spòg Liath, and the phases of the moon over Scotland's islands. The live sound is paired with visuals from filmmaker Jonny Ashworth, known for his music videos with Brìghde, making for a performance rooted in Scottish heritage but with a contemporary edge. Doors open at 7pm with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are £27.50, with a concession price of £5.50 for under-18s and full-time education students.
