A WI-inspired musical about friends who pose for a charity calendar after bereavement, with Gary Barlow and Tim Firth's score.

Rugby Theatre stages Calendar Girls The Musical, telling the true story of Annie and Chris, whose friends in the Women's Institute agree to pose nude behind strategically placed baked goods, flowers and crafting supplies for a calendar, raising money for a new sofa in a hospital waiting room after Annie's husband John dies of leukaemia. Written by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth, it's directed by Mark Tolchard with musical direction by Elinor Davies and choreography by Carrie Gamble. The show runs from Saturday 24 to Saturday 31 October. Saturday 24 October has a 7.30pm evening performance only. Sunday 25 October has both a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening show. There is no performance on Monday 26 October. Tuesday 27 to Friday 30 October all have 7.30pm evening shows, and the run finishes on Saturday 31 October with both a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening performance. Tickets are £25 with concessions available. The theatre notes mild adult themes and humour, brief partial nudity shown in a tasteful, non-sexual manner, references to illness, grief and bereavement, and emotional scenes some may find upsetting, so parental guidance is recommended for younger audience members.
