Kit's Magical Tail

Self-guided autumn trail at the Botanics following Kit the kitsune fox, with clues to solve and an ice cream reward.

Follow Kit, a one-tailed kitsune fox from Japanese folklore, on a self-guided trail around the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh. Kit is searching for plant magic to help grow more tails, and children follow clues in an activity booklet to uncover myths, legends and stories connecting plants, people and animals from around the world. It's a drop-in trail, so there's no need to book, and you can start any time between 10am and 4pm. Booklets cost £3 per child or participant and can be bought at the John Hope Gateway Reception Desk (West Gate) or the East Gate entrance. The trail is suitable for ages 3 and up. Complete the booklet and you'll get a scoop of Arran Ice Cream's Kit's Chocolate Crunch as a reward, with a vegan chocolate alternative available. Members get a free children's hot chocolate with marshmallows and cream with every trail booklet purchased, on presentation of the booklet and membership card at the on-site cafe, one per booklet, with the offer ending on 18 October 2026.</description> <parameter name="listing_type">event
