Christmas at the Botanics turns the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh into a lit-up evening trail, with the Christmas Cathedral, the Fire Garden and a new Light Sphere feature among the highlights. There's music along the route and seasonal food and drink available to buy as you walk round, from hot chocolate to festive snacks (these cost extra, on top of your ticket). The trail runs from 19 November to 30 December 2026 and is designed to welcome visitors of all ages and needs. Relaxed sessions, with a calmer sensory experience, are held at 4pm on Sunday 29 November, Wednesday 2 December and Wednesday 9 December 2026, and a Changing Places toilet is available on 19 November, 2 December and 9 December 2026. You can enter via the West Gate on Arboretum Place if arriving by car or taxi, or the East Gate on Inverleith Row if arriving by bus, with no event parking at the East Gate.
