RBSA Prize 2026

Biennial open exhibition of contemporary art at RBSA Gallery, with cash prizes and a preview evening.

The RBSA Prize 2026 is a biennial open exhibition at the RBSA Gallery in Birmingham, showing work by artists from the local area and further afield who submitted pieces with more contemporary approaches. The selection panel includes Clare Mullett from the University of Birmingham, Sarah Priest from Bonhams Auctioneers, and Robert Wenley from the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, and between them they've chosen a mix of techniques, themes and ideas to fill Galleries 1 and 2. There's a preview evening on Thursday 1 October from 6pm to 8pm, and the exhibition then runs through October before closing on Saturday 31 October at 5pm. Prizes on offer are £1000 for first, £500 for second and £250 for third, plus up to six highly commended certificates. Normal gallery opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10.30am to 5pm.
