Julius Caesar

Progress Theatre stages Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, a political tragedy of ambition and betrayal.

Progress Theatre presents Julius Caesar, William Shakespeare's tragedy of ambition, betrayal and the price of power, staged with a modern edge. It's the third time the theatre has produced this play, having first staged it with the Progress Youth Theatre in 1996 and again in the Abbey Ruins in 2002, and it's the historical tragedy the company has performed most often over its 80-year history. The show runs from 18 to 23 January 2027 at Progress Theatre in Reading. Expect a politically charged retelling of the assassination of Caesar and its bloody aftermath, suited to theatre-goers who enjoy classic drama with real tension.
