The Selfish Giant

Riding Lights bring Oscar Wilde's tale of the giant who walls off his garden to the stage with storytelling, puppetry and live music. 50 minutes, ages 4+.

The Giant is angry. He has been away a long time and comes home to find children playing in his beautiful garden, so up goes a big wall and an even bigger KEEP OUT sign. Then winter seizes the garden in its icy fingers. Will its grip ever be broken? Riding Lights Theatre Company tell Oscar Wilde's story of love and generosity through vivid interactive storytelling, original music, puppetry and humour. Pitched at ages 4 and up (perfect for 3 to 7 year olds), it runs 50 minutes with no interval. One performance at Nottingham Playhouse on Saturday 3 October 2026 at 2pm. Tickets £12 (members £10.20) plus a £2.50 per-order booking fee.
