The Duffield Shopper Special is a heritage Diesel Multiple Unit (DMU) service that departs Duffield at 8:20am, calling at Shottle and Idridgehay before arriving in Wirksworth at 9:00am. It runs on the first Saturday of each month, timed to coincide with Wirksworth's Farmers' Market, giving you a nostalgic ride through the Ecclesbourne Valley aboard a classic diesel unit rather than driving into town. Once you arrive in Wirksworth you're free to browse the Farmers' Market and explore the town at your own pace. Your ticket entitles you to travel back to Duffield on any of the regular services running later that day, so there's no need to rush back for a fixed return time.
