Allerton Castle opens its doors "Dressed for Christmas" for a free open day. Visitors can wander the historic gothic revival castle, enjoy a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie, and chat to the guides and events staff on hand about the building's history. It runs on Sunday 3rd December from 11am to 2pm, with free admission for anyone wanting a look round the castle in its festive dress.
