Arcades, VR & Gaming in Cardiff
Rainy afternoons in Cardiff have a couple of solid answers. The Red Dragon Centre is a few minutes from Queen Street, with bowling, an IMAX and a room of arcade machines all under one roof, plus free parking and a café if you want to make a morning of it. A bit further out, Active Reality runs free-roam VR sessions, zombie shooters and cooking challenges included, but it is booking required and for ages nine and up. For younger children or a spontaneous visit, the Red Dragon Centre is the easier call, no age limit and food on site if the day runs long. If your kids are older and you fancy something more physical than a screen, book ahead for Active Reality and go as a group, since sessions are built around that. One is a walk-in rainy-day option, the other needs a bit of planning.
