Bowling in Bristol

Ten pin or lawn green, Bristol has a decent spread of both. Lane7 is barely out of the centre with ten lanes from £9.50, plus pool and darts if the little ones lose interest halfway through. Out at South Liberty Lane, Bristol Indoor Bowls Club puts you on a proper club green with a café and free parking for over a hundred cars, and it welcomes ages 7 upwards. If you want outdoor lawn bowls without spending much, St George Bowls and Social Club charges from £10 an hour and sits right by St George Park's playground and skate park, handy if you have more than one age group to keep happy. Knowle Bowling Club and Greville Smyth Community Bowls Club are both open-air, no minimum age, and good for a first go at rolling a bowl rather than a serious game. For something different, BOLA Batting has real bowling machines with animated bowlers on screen, booked in half hour slots, best for older kids who fancy a proper net session.
