Moira Lakes Paddle Sports & Event Centre sits outside Lisburn, a drive of around 22 km from Belfast, and it's built around a single lake doing a lot of jobs at once: cold water swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, archery, climbing and even laser tag, all on the same site. Entry starts from £6.50, and it's aimed at ages 6 and up, so this isn't one for toddlers. If you're choosing what to do once you're there, food and toilets are on site, and it works for group bookings if you're planning a birthday or a bigger get-together. Everything's outdoors, so check the weather and dress for water sports rather than a gentle stroll. It's the sort of place where older kids can try three or four activities in one visit rather than just paddling about.
