Model Villages & Miniature Railways in Southampton

Two model villages cover this one nicely, both a drive from the centre rather than in it. Southsea Model Village, in Southsea, is built into an old fort, with a Thomas & Friends model train to chase and tunnels to duck into underneath, and tickets start at £6.50. Then there's a longer trip out to Corfe Castle Model Village, set outdoors with a cafe and gift shop on site. For price, Southsea is the cheaper start and it also has parking, picnic spots and food on site, useful if you're making a day of it. Corfe Castle needs booking ahead, so sort that before you set off. Both work fine for younger children pottering round tiny streets, and being outdoors, either is best tackled on a dry day with a coat in the bag just in case.
