Reading, Book Clubs & Storytime in Reading
If you're after storytime in Reading itself, Fourbears Books is the one on the list, and it's a nice one. It's an independent bookshop a couple of kilometres out from the centre, with free parking so you're not circling for a space. They run read-aloud sessions for babies and toddlers, plus book groups for older children, so there's something whichever end of the reading journey your child is at. Sessions start from £12.99. For toddlers, the read-aloud sessions are gentle and short, good for wobbly attention spans. Older children get more out of the book groups, where they're talking about stories rather than just listening. It's indoors, so weather's not a factor, and the free parking makes it an easy stop rather than a big outing. Pop in and ask what's coming up next.
