What it’s like

A lakeside water park where kids swim out to an inflatable aqua park with slides and trampolines, plus go karting and paddle sports on the side.

This one's built around a lake, not a pool. Once you're kitted out with a buoyancy aid, you swim out to the Aqua Park itself, an inflatable rig of slides and trampolines, and from there it's paddle sports, remote controlled boating, or the lakeside go kart track if the water's not the main event for your lot that day. There's a sauna too, if you fancy something for yourself once the kids have worn themselves out on the trampolines.

The age rules are specific and worth reading properly before you book. Under sixes can only do paddle sports and swimming, and only sharing a board with an adult. Six to eights can do everything but need a grown-up actively in the water alongside them, not just watching from a lounger. Nine to fifteens get more independence, with an adult on the sidelines rather than in the water. Whatever the age, everyone needs to swim 25 metres unaided and be genuinely comfortable in open water, because you will go under at some point getting to the Aqua Park.

Booking is online and in advance, and it matters: turn up without a booking and you're charged an extra £2 per activity if there's space at all. Arrive half an hour early too, since the gate shuts once a session's started and there's no talking your way in late. Wetsuits are optional, yours or a hired one, and lockers are free but you need your own padlock, theirs won't do.

The lakeside café does breakfast and hot food, and it's the only food you're allowed on site, no picnics smuggled in. Parking's free for four hours, which should cover most sessions, but you'll need to register at reception if you're stopping longer.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book ahead?

Yes, and it matters here. Walk-ins are charged an extra £2 per activity and only get in if there's space.

How early should we arrive?

Thirty minutes before your session, for check-in, changing and the safety briefing. Once the session's started, nobody gets in.

Does my child need to be able to swim?

Everyone using the lake needs to swim 25 metres unaided and be confident in open water, no exceptions by age. You're likely to go under water getting out to the Aqua Park.

What can younger kids do?

Under sixes are limited to paddle sports and swimming, sharing a board with an adult. Six to eights can do everything but need an adult actively in the water with them, not just watching.

Is there parking?

Free for the first four hours. Stay longer and you'll need to register your car at reception, and charges kick in.

Can we bring our own food?

No, outside food and drink isn't allowed on site and bringing it may get you turned away. The lakeside café does breakfast and hot food instead.

Do we need to bring anything for the lockers?

Your own padlock. They don't provide one and won't accept liability for lost property, so it's worth double checking you've packed it.

What if the weather turns?

Sessions can be cancelled in a severe storm, and there's no guarantee of a same-day refund if that happens.

Do you do birthday parties?

Packages need a minimum of six attendees and they ask you to book two to three months ahead. It includes an activity session plus a table reserved at the café.
