TRIP 2 TOWN
BEST FOR
Ages 0-8
WHERE
Sheffield
What it’s like
A mini role-play town with a café, garage and dressing-up corner, plus soft play for climbing and crawling.
This one's built around a little pretend town rather than just a frame to climb. There's a café counter, a garage and a dressing-up zone, so a four-year-old can spend a good chunk of the visit serving pretend coffees or fixing an imaginary car rather than just tearing about. The soft play bit is there too, for the climbing and crawling side of things, but the town is clearly the bit they'll be talking about on the way home.
Sessions run in fixed slots rather than a free-for-all, with several during the day Monday to Saturday and two longer ones on Sunday afternoon. Booking is required, which is a slight faff if you're the sort who decides at 9am that today's a soft play day, but it does mean you're not turning up to find the place rammed. With ages 0 to 8 catered for, it sits at a decent spot for younger children who want to potter about the role play zones without older kids barrelling through.
Food's sorted on site, with fresh prepared food and a decent stretch of hot and cold drinks, so you're not stuck eating whatever's left in the changing bag by session three. Birthday parties are a thing here too, with the birthday child getting a free play session as part of the package and some optional extras if you want to push the boat out.
