What it’s like

A Bristol pub with a pool table, an outdoor area and cricket nets that proper cricketers still use.

This is a pub first, so don't turn up expecting a soft play or a farm trail. What it does have is a pool table if your teenager fancies a game, and cricket nets outside that the site says get used by actual modern cricketers, which is a nice detail if you've got a kid who's into the sport and wants to hit a few balls where the real players do.

It's outdoor space too, so on a dry evening it's a decent spot to let the kids potter about while the adults have a pint. Food-wise, Rise Pizza Bristol does the cooking on site Tuesday to Saturday, so if you're going on a Monday or Sunday you won't get fed here.

Hours are pub hours: open from 5pm on weeknights, but from midday on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which makes a weekend lunch or early afternoon visit the easier window with kids in tow rather than turning up after 5pm into a proper evening crowd. There's no booking system listed, so it's a walk-in sort of place.
