What it’s like
A Bristol bar with live music, DJs, pottery classes and life drawing under one roof, and free to get in.
This one's less "kids' venue" and more a grown-up hangout that happens to run some proper daytime activities alongside the gigs and DJs at night. Pottery classes and life drawing sessions are both listed on their programme, which makes it an odd but interesting one for older kids or teenagers who fancy something creative rather than another soft play.
Entry's free, which takes the pressure off if you just want to pop in and see what's on. Food comes from whoever's running the kitchen that week, with Pizzucci doing pizza Monday to Thursday and Sundays, midday till 9pm, and there's a full bar if the grown-ups want a proper drink while the kids do their pottery. That rotating kitchen setup is a nice idea in theory, but it does mean the food on offer changes depending on the day you turn up.
It's open long hours, midday until midnight most days and 2am at weekends, though obviously the later end of that isn't when you'd be bringing children along. There's a function room too if you're thinking about a birthday party somewhere a bit different from the usual.
Worth checking what's actually running on the day you fancy going, since the mix of live music, DJs, pottery and life drawing suggests the programme changes a fair bit rather than being the same thing every visit.
