What it’s like

Handmade Indian sweets by weight and a sit-down menu of North Indian, South Indian and Indo-Chinese dishes.

This is a two-in-one stop: a sweet counter selling mithai like kaju katri by weight, and a restaurant next door doing North Indian, South Indian and Indo-Chinese food. If you're after something quick and sweet for the kids on the way home, that's the counter. If you want to sit down and eat properly, that's the restaurant side.

The kaju katri gives you a feel for pricing: £4.25 for 250g, £8.50 for 500g, up to £17 for a full kilo. That's handy if you're stocking up for a party or just want a small box to try. There's no kids menu mentioned, so you're ordering off the same board as everyone else, which is fine if your kids already eat curry but less useful if they're fussy.

It's open every day except Monday. Tuesday to Friday it runs 09:30 to 21:00, Saturday stretches a bit longer to 21:30, and Sunday closes at 21:00. Card only here, so leave the cash at home.

They also do wedding catering, which tells you the kitchen's used to cooking at scale, useful to know if you're weighing this up against a smaller local place for a big family gathering rather than just a quick tea.
