What it’s like
An hour on the Norfolk Broads spotting wildlife, with a pirate cabin for the younger crew and dogs welcome for a pound.
You climb aboard for a guided hour cruising the Norfolk Broads, watching for whatever wildlife is about that day. Younger passengers get their own pirate cabin on board, which is a nice touch if you've got a small one who'd otherwise spend the whole trip asking when it's finished.
Trips run four times a day, May to October, at 11am, 12:15pm, 2pm and 3:15pm, and you don't need to book ahead. You can just turn up at the departure point, though if you'd rather have it sorted, texting before 9:30am on the day or emailing the day before does the job too. Outside the main season they still go out November to April by prior arrangement, so it's worth a text if you fancy a winter trip when the Broads are quieter.
An hour is about right for this kind of thing, long enough to actually see something, short enough that nobody's fidgeting by the end. It's £12 for an adult and £9 for a child, and if the dog's coming too that's an extra £1, which feels like a fair deal for a well behaved passenger. Parking on site is £2.50 in coins.
The boat is wheelchair accessible if you let them know in advance, and there are toilets at the departure point. It's a straightforward hour out on the water rather than a big day out, but that's rather the point of it.
