What it’s like
Three tiers of slides, a ball volcano and a toddler corner, with weekday mornings for the quieter crowd.
The frame here is built over three tiers, with wavy and spiral slides to work down and a ball pit that steps up to a proper ball volcano. There's a dedicated toddler area too, so a two-year-old isn't dodging bigger kids barrelling down the big slides. The ball volcano sounds like the bit to save until last, once the smaller ones have had their turn on the quieter stuff.
It's open weekday mornings until 3pm and Saturdays until quarter to five, which means no late weekday afternoon session if you're picking up from nursery or school. Prices are gentle for soft play, £5 a child and £2 for the accompanying adult, and parking on site is free. Saturdays need booking ahead, so that's the one day you can't just turn up on a whim.
The café does barista coffee alongside hot and cold food, which beats the vending machine standard, and cold party boxes start from £3.60 a child if you're running a party there. They're allergy aware too, which is worth knowing if you're juggling a food allergy on top of everything else. There's wifi if you need to answer emails while your child conquers the spiral slide for the tenth time.
It's a five minute walk from the Wavell Way bus stop if you're coming without a car, and there are toilets on site for the inevitable mid-play dash. Group bookings are catered for if you're bringing more than the usual two or three.
