What it’s like

A bar full of retro arcade machines and consoles, but this one's for the grown-ups, not the kids, most of the week.

This is a bar with an arcade in it rather than the other way round, and the facts are blunt about who it's for. Retro cabinets and consoles line the place, the consoles are free to play, and the machines run on a token system if you want a go on the arcade games proper. £9.50 gets you 15 tokens, £13 gets you 25, and games take one or two tokens a play depending what you're on.

Here's the bit that matters if you're thinking of bringing your kids: under 18s are only let in on Sundays, 11am to 3pm. Every other session, Monday through Saturday nights and the rest of Sunday, it's strictly 18+, ID on the door, and they only accept a physical passport or driving licence, not a photo of one on your phone. So this is a one-slot-a-week deal for families, not a drop-in-anytime arcade.

Entry itself is free, you're only paying for tokens once you're in, and both cash and card work behind the bar. There's a full drinks list including arcade-themed cocktails alongside the soft drinks, so it plays as much as a bar with games as a games place with a bar. Worth knowing before you head over that it isn't wheelchair accessible, which is a real limitation if that affects your group.

If you can only make the Sunday daytime window, it's a straightforward one for older kids who fancy a go on proper retro machines rather than the usual soft play or trampoline circuit. Outside that window, this one's for date nights and after the kids are in bed, not family days out.
