What it’s like

A live music and games venue with pool, darts and table football, but the age-14-18 ID rule means it is really one for teens, not young kids.

This one is a bit different to your average family listing. Nightrain is a live music venue with a games room on the side, pool table, dartboard, table football, and whoever's on the decks or the stage that night. There's no minimum age given, but if your teenager is between 14 and 18, they need photographic ID at the door, a passport, driving licence or a PASS card. No ID, no entry, and that's not a rule anyone's going to bend for you.

It's free to get in, which helps, and the doors don't open early. Thursdays run 6pm till late, Friday and Saturday it's 7pm to 3am, and Monday to Wednesday it's shut unless there's a gig on. Bradford City home games push the Saturday opening back to midday, so check which Saturday you're dealing with before you plan around it.

Seating is first come, first served, no reserving a table, so if you want to actually sit down rather than stand by the pool table all night, get there early. The main floor and bar are step-free and there's an accessible toilet near the bar, with carers going in free if you email ahead with proof of eligibility. Parking's free at the Broadway car park after 5pm on weekdays and all day at weekends, and it's a five or six minute walk from either of Bradford's train stations if you're coming in that way.

This isn't a soft play or an afternoon-out venue, it's a night-time live music spot that happens to allow teenagers in with the right ID. Worth knowing if you've got an older teen keen on live music and a games room to hang about in before the band starts.
