Kidz Kaboom Play Centre and Nursery

What it’s like

Soft play, a sensory room and messy play for babies and under sixes, with an outdoor area for poking about in the mud.

This one's aimed squarely at the younger end, babies through to six year olds, so there's none of the older-kid chaos barrelling into your toddler. The soft play equipment is built for gross motor stuff, the crawling, climbing, wobbling about that little ones need to do, and there's a sensory room for anyone who needs a calmer corner.

The messy play room is probably the bit they'll go on about after, paint and goo and whatever else gets set up that day, so pack a spare set of clothes. There's also an outdoor space for nature exploration, which is a nice change from the usual soft play box with no windows.

For birthdays they do VIP party packages from £250, which gets you exclusive use of the play zone for a two-hour session, your own party room and food options laid on. That's a decent way to have the place to yourselves rather than sharing the ball pit with strangers.

There's on-site food and party rooms if you're going down the birthday route, and the whole setup leans toward younger kids rather than trying to be everything to everyone.
