What it’s like
A live music venue on The Headrow with gigs most nights, not a kids' attraction, but worth knowing about if you're planning round it.
This is a gig venue in the middle of Leeds, not somewhere built with kids in mind. There's no mention of an age policy here, so it's really about whether a particular event suits your family rather than the building itself. Doors for evening events tend to open around 7.30pm, which is late for most children, though daytime hours start earlier, from midday on Fridays and Saturdays and 2pm the rest of the week.
Getting in and around is step free from the main entrance to the performance space, and there's an accessible toilet with grab rails and baby changing. Worth flagging though, the lift is currently out of order, so if you need it to reach other floors or that toilet, you'll want to plan around the stairs instead.
There's no parking on site. The nearest options are the NCP on The Core and the Tempar Street car park, both about 0.2 miles off, with blue badge spaces closer on The Headrow itself. A bus stop sits right outside, 85 feet from the door, which is probably the easier route in if you're juggling a buggy.
One rule that's a bit of a faff for a group outing: fancy dress, stag and hen parties, and large groups aren't admitted. If someone in your party needs a bit of extra help to attend, they do offer PA tickets for a support worker, and you can bring your own food, drink or medical kit if it's needed to manage a condition. They can even refrigerate medicines if you let them know in advance.
