What it’s like
Sourdough pizza and pasta in the city centre, with a kids menu that lets them build their own pizza.
This is an Italian sit-down rather than a quick bite, but they've thought about kids without making a fuss of it. The Kids Menu runs £8 for two courses or £10 for three, and it's on all day, every day, no set age limit attached. The bit that'll actually get used is Make Your Own Pizza, though the site does flag it's occasionally unavailable, so don't promise it as a dead cert before you've walked in.
You don't have to book. Walk-ins are welcome whenever there's space, though they're upfront that weekends and busy periods are when you'll want to have called ahead if you want a specific time. Groups of eight or more need a deposit, which is worth knowing if it's a birthday with cousins in tow.
It's on Upper Parliament Street, a short walk from the Victoria Centre and the Theatre Royal, so it slots in either side of a show or a shopping trip. Step-free access and a disabled toilet are both there, and the closest parking is the Q-Park on Goldsmith Street, about two minutes on foot. If you fancy something more grown-up once the kids' pizza's demolished, there's a Thursday Supper Club at £30 for five courses, and weekend Bottomless Brunch at £42.50 a head for 90 minutes, though that one's very much the adults' treat rather than a family plan.
Opening hours are generous: midday to 10pm most days, stretching to 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. That gives you room either side of the usual dinner rush if you're trying to dodge the crowds with a toddler in tow.
