What it’s like
Soft play for babies and toddlers with an outdoor bit, from £4, and adults pay £2 to sit in the café.
The play is split between an indoor soft play area for infants and toddlers and an outdoor area, which is worth knowing because a lot of soft plays are one room with a slide and a smell of chips.
It's for children up to 10, but the indoor side is pitched at the littlest ones, so this suits a two-year-old far better than a seven-year-old. Prices creep up with age: £4 for 6-11 months, £7 for one and two-year-olds, £8.50 once they hit three. Babies under six months go free, which is a nice touch, and adults are £2 each, so a parent and a three-year-old is £10.50 before you've bought a coffee. You book your weekend play session online before you turn up, and midweek they open 9.30am to 6pm.
Two rules catch people out. No outside food or drink at all, and the restaurant is the only option, which is fine until you've got a fussy four-year-old and a packed lunch in the boot. And no balloons, presents or cakes unless you've booked a party, so don't turn up with a cake and a candle expecting to be waved through. Some weekdays they close from 1pm for private parties, and weekend private hires mean a 3.30pm close, so check the session time when you book.
SEN sessions run on the last Wednesday of every month, and there's ample free parking on site. Memberships bring the entry cost down if you'd be going often.
