What it’s like
Weekly one-to-one style sessions in maths, English and science, plus 11-plus and GCSE prep, with daily worksheets to work through at home.
Your child turns up once a week per subject for a session that generally runs 30 to 40 minutes, working through maths, English or science with a tutor at the centre. There's also dedicated 11-plus entrance exam prep and GCSE tuition, so it covers primary right up to secondary level. The monthly fee doesn't just buy the session either, it includes daily worksheets to keep going with at home, pitched at short 10 to 15 minute stretches so it doesn't turn into a nightly battle.
First visits can feel a bit much for a nervous child, and they're upfront about that. You're welcome to sit in for the first session or two while they settle, though most kids apparently stop wanting you there once they've got used to the place. There's no set contract length either, it runs as a long-term thing rather than a quick fix, and you just need to give a month's notice if you want to stop.
It's open long hours through the week, 8am to 9pm Monday to Friday, plus a shorter slot on Saturday from 11 to 5. Parking is free and right outside the centre, which takes one thing off the list when you're doing the after-school run.

Plan your visit
What ages and subjects does it cover?
Primary and secondary, from early years and KS1 through to GCSE, including specific 11-plus preparation. It's maths, English and science on offer.
How long is each session?
About 30 to 40 minutes per subject per week, though the Centre Manager can vary this depending on your child's age and ability.
Do I need to stay with my child during sessions?
Not for long. You can settle them in for the first session if they're anxious, but most children are happy to stay on their own once they've got used to the place.
Is there parking at the centre?
There's a car park directly outside, and it's free.
Am I locked into a contract?
No fixed term. It's meant to be a long-term programme rather than a one-off fix, and they ask for a month's notice if you need to stop.
