What it’s like

Spread a picnic by the 83-acre lake, then let the kids loose on the adventure playground and wander the Pleasure Grounds and Lime Tree Avenue across this 3,800-acre estate. Walled kitchen garden, chapel, cafes, shop and cycle hire are on site too.

Under-5s go free on the admission table; National Trust members enter free. Dogs are welcome, with Central Bark as the dog-friendly cafe. Parking is included with admission.

Park hours on a September day close at 17:00 - check the calendar before a late start. Main facilities are a walk from the Carburton bus stop.

How do we find it?

Entry via the A614 or B6034 to Lime Tree Avenue and main crossroads, parking in main car park near central facilities and overflow car park. Vehicular access to Hardwick Village but no access to the south side of the lake. Nearest train stations: Worksop 4.5 miles, Retford 6.5 miles. Stagecoach 'The Sherwood Arrow' bus from Worksop to Ollerton, alight at Carburton, then 0.75 mile walk to the park entrance (main visitor facilities a further 1.5 miles). Clumber Park sits at the North Eastern end of cycle route 648 where it joins National Cycle Route 6.
