What it’s like

An indoor skate bowl and park in Bristol with hire kit and tuition for beginners working up to intermediate tricks.

This is a proper indoor skate setup, not a corner of a sports centre. Kids skate the bowl and park itself, and if they've never stood on a board before there's tuition to get them past the wobbly stage. You can hire boards, scooters and helmets on the day rather than lugging your own gear across town, though they'd rather you booked your kit in advance through the add-ons when you book your session.

Helmets are compulsory for anyone 12 and under, which is fair enough given what's on offer, but it's worth knowing helmet hire doesn't fit anyone 5 and under, so a very small skater needs their own. Under-13s are expected to have an adult stay with them; once they hit 13 they can be left to get on with it, which is handy if you'd rather sit with a coffee than watch every drop-in.

The car park is free, but registration at the iPad by the entrance is not optional. Miss it and you're looking at a £100 fine, so it's the first job when you pull up, before anyone's even got their board out. There's a café on site doing coffee, cakes and neopolitan-style pizza, which covers you for a decent chunk of a session without needing to leave.

It's closed Mondays, and hours run from half nine most days, a bit shorter on Saturday and shorter again on Sunday. Birthday parties happen Saturdays and Sundays only, an hour of skating with 45 minutes for food and socialising after, and you can add a pizza package or a cake if you don't want to sort food yourself.

  • Closed on Mondays; Saturday and Sunday hours are shorter than the weekday run.

Plan your visit

Do we need to book?

They'd highly recommend it, and first-timers need to fill in an online waiver before arriving, which saves faffing about at the desk.

Is it OK for a younger child?

Helmets are compulsory for 12 and under, but helmet hire doesn't suit anyone aged 5 and under, so a really young skater needs their own helmet.

Do I need to stay with my child while they skate?

They recommend a parent stays, though children over 13 can be left to skate unattended.

Can we bring our own board or scooter?

Yes, as long as it's clean, dry and well maintained. Scooters and BMXs need bar ends fitted.

What's parking like?

Free for customers, but you must register at the iPad by the entrance. Miss that step and it's a £100 fine, so do it before anything else.

What about food?

There's a café on site doing coffee, cakes and neopolitan-style pizza.

Can you do birthday parties there?

Saturdays and Sundays only, for up to 15 people. It's an hour of skating plus 45 minutes for food, with a pizza package or a cake available on top.
