What it’s like

A free Belfast library with a Saturday morning of Lego and board games, plus homework help and a rhyme time for babies and toddlers.

Saturday mornings are the busy patch here. Lego Club runs 10am to noon, and Board Game Club follows in the same hour, 11am to noon, so you'll find kids overlapping between the two tables depending on what they fancy that week. Both are free, and neither needs booking as far as the facts go.

For babies and toddlers there's Rhythm and Rhyme every Wednesday morning, 10:30 to 11, aimed at 0 to 4 year olds, which is short enough that it won't wreck a nap schedule. School-age kids get Homework Club every weekday afternoon, 3:30 to 5, for children aged 8 and under as long as an adult stays with them, which is a decent after-school stop if you're collecting early.

Older children have their own clubs tucked into the calendar rather than every week. There's a Junior Reading Group for ages 4 and up every second Thursday afternoon, and a separate one for 9 to 11 year olds once a month on a Monday afternoon. Manga Club is monthly too, first Wednesday, for ages 10 and above, and Halloween crafts turn up seasonally for 6 and over.

It's indoor, free to get in, and has the basics covered: accessible toilets, baby change, a hearing loop, wifi. Friday and Saturday are shorter days, so if you're planning around a specific club, check which session you're aiming for rather than just turning up at any hour.

  • Manga Club and the 9-11 reading group are monthly, not weekly, so check which week lands.
  • Closed over Christmas from 24 to 28 December 2026 and on New Year's Day 2027.
