What it’s like
Alpaca feeding, guinea pig snuggling and a maze to get lost in, all set across an open farm with woodland walks.
This one's a proper mix of animals and outdoor play. You can feed the alpacas, have a go at guinea pig snuggling, and wander the woodland walks before the kids clock the mini golf and the maze. There's ride-on tractors, sand and water play, and soft play with an indoor slide if the weather turns, so a rained-off morning doesn't have to be a write-off.
It's £11 for a standard day pass, or £12.10 if you add Gift Aid, and a group of 4 comes to £40 (£44 with Gift Aid). That's not pocket change for a family day out, but you get the whole site on one ticket, from the animals to the play areas. Carers go free if you can show a Compass Card, Gateway Card, Access Card or a DLA letter, though it's worth knowing Blue Badges alone won't do as proof.
Gates open at 10am (9:30am for members) and close at 4pm, so it's a full day if you want it, or a couple of hours if the little ones flag. The café does hot and cold food with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, but hot food stops at 2.30pm, so aim for an earlier lunch if that matters to you. No dogs or other pets are allowed on-site, assistance dogs aside, so leave the family dog at home.
One nice touch: if rain properly ruins your visit, you can get your receipt stamped on the way out and come back free within 7 days. Birthday parties start from £19.95 a child, with lunch, activity access and optional extras like alpaca feeding or a cake thrown in.
