Circus & Street Performance in Leeds
There's no big top pitching up in Leeds itself, so this one means a drive out. Over in Huddersfield, the High Jinx Magic illusion and Circus show mixes grand illusions with circus skills, aimed at kids of 5 and up who can sit still and be baffled. York Barbican's touring stage covers comedy, dance and orchestral film concerts for ages 7 and up, and York Racecourse lets kids in free to watch the horses, with the cheapest adult ticket at £10 and food and parking sorted on site. If you've got a younger child, the racecourse is the easiest sell, it's outdoors, there's plenty of room to wander, and nobody minds if they lose interest halfway through a race. Older kids who can hold focus for a show will get more from High Jinx or the Barbican. And if you're heading to York for the day, the Fulford Arms is 16+ only, a standing-room pub venue for live music later on, not one for the kids.
