The Yorkshire Museum hosts a free screening of 'A Basket Full of Eggs', a 19-minute film by Romani filmmaker Lisa Smith, made in partnership with the University of York and York Travellers Trust. The film follows Romani journalist Liza Mortimer as she searches archival collections for the story of her great-grandmother, Minty Smith, uncovering the role Romani singers and communities played in shaping England's folk music traditions. The screening is followed by a presentation and Q&A with project lead Professor Hazel Marsh. Entry is free and pre-booking is not required.
