Halloween family event with a live animal encounter, steam train ride and Halloween games at Whitehead Railway Museum.

Whitehead Railway Museum turns spooky for Halloween with Pumpkins, Paws & Claws, running over two days at the end of October. Each booked timeslot includes a 45-minute live animal experience with Wee Critters, featuring owls, spiders, toads and armadillos, plus a short steam train ride hauled by the 105-year-old locomotive No.3BG "Guinness" using the heritage carriages. Once your session is done you can stay on to explore the museum, take part in Halloween games and activities, and grab some spooky photo opportunities among the seasonal displays. Selected tickets come with a plush pumpkin to take home, and the café will be open for hot and cold food and refreshments. Pre-booking is essential and timeslots run at 10:45, 11:45, 12:45 and 14:00, with arrival requested 15 minutes before your slot. The event is not suitable for children under 3. Tickets are Adult £10 and Child £14, with family tickets available (plus a £1 per basket booking fee).
