Big Engineering Challenge: Wind-Powered Wheels

Free drop-in STEM session at W5 where teams design and race wind-powered cars.

Head to W5 LIFE for a hands-on engineering challenge exploring forces, motion and aerodynamics. Working in teams, you build 2D and 3D structures before designing and constructing your own wind-powered car, adding paper sails and racing it on the starting line in front of a fan to see whose vehicle travels furthest. It's a free drop-in session with no pre-booking required, running across two sessions on the day. Children must be supervised by an adult throughout, and W5 LIFE is located within The O2 Belfast, facing the main entrance to W5.
