A talk, short film premiere and panel on returning 45 objects from Brighton to Botswana's Khama III Museum.

Brighton Museum's Museum Lab hosts a talk marking the repatriation of 45 objects from Brighton & Hove Museums to the Khama III Memorial Museum in Botswana, completed in May 2026. The session includes the premiere of a new short film following the objects' journey and the thinking behind this long-term project. Afterwards there's a panel discussion on shared heritage and repatriation, with Portia Tremlett (Curator of World Cultures, Brighton & Hove Museums), JoAnn McGregor (Professor of Human Geography, University of Sussex), and Bert Williams MBE and Suchi Chatterjee of Brighton & Hove Black History. It's free with Brighton Museum admission, and free for members, but if you're pre-purchasing admission online you'll need to select the correct date and time.
