Special exhibition at Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds bringing 255 treasures from the Mongol Empire to the UK.

Genghis Khan: How the Mongols Changed the World arrives in the Special Exhibitions Gallery on the fourth floor of the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds from June 2026. Put together with Nomad Exhibitions, Nantes History Museum, Chinggis Khaan National Museum and international partner Orano, it brings together 255 treasures connected to the Mongol Empire, many of them on display in the UK for the first time. The exhibition tells the story of Genghis Khan and how the Mongols shaped the world around them, following on from the gallery's first show, Gladiators - Heroes of the Colosseum, which drew 33,000 visitors. The museum itself is open 10am to 5pm, Tuesday to Sunday in term-time and every day during school holidays and bank holidays, so there's plenty of scope to build a visit around this exhibition alongside the rest of the Royal Armouries collection.
