Step Outside: Outdoor Learning Made Easy

A one-day CPD course at Forest Farm Conservation Centre for primary teachers, TAs and early years staff.

This practical course is aimed at primary school teachers, teaching assistants and early years practitioners who want to use outdoor spaces more effectively but aren't sure where to start. Delivered almost entirely outdoors in woodland at Forest Farm Conservation Centre, Forest Farm Road, Cardiff, CF14 7JJ, the day gives attendees first-hand experience of outdoor learning through exploration, play, discussion and reflection, the same way children would experience it. By the end of the day, participants should feel more confident and equipped with practical ideas to bring outdoor learning into their own school grounds or local green spaces straight away. Bring weather-appropriate clothing, sturdy footwear, a packed lunch and your curiosity, as the day runs rain or shine outdoors. The course costs £85 per person, and places are booked by emailing parksforlearning@cardiff.gov.uk.
