Free display at the National Army Museum on South Asian communities during the Second World War and its aftermath.

This temporary display at the National Army Museum looks at the experiences of South Asian men and women during the Second World War, from women in India taking on new roles as men were deployed overseas, to the South Asians recruited after Partition in 1947 to help with post-war reconstruction in Britain. It draws on previously unheard stories of determination and sacrifice, researched and funded through the National Lottery Heritage Fund. It's aimed at adults and runs daily from 3 to 15 November 2026, 10am to 5.30pm, with free entry.
