See Hastings, Lincoln Castle's new dragon sculpture, on display daily by Lucy Tower.

A new dragon called Hastings has arrived at Lincoln Castle, created to mark Lincoln's Norman story as the Bayeux Tapestry returns to the UK. He sits against the backdrop of Lucy Tower, on the site of William the Conqueror's original Norman motte and bailey castle, which he established at Lincoln in 1068, two years after the Battle of Hastings. Visitors can follow signs to a dedicated viewing area to see Hastings up close, take a photo and learn how the events of 1066 shaped Lincoln. The dragon forms part of the castle's wider programme exploring the Norman Conquest and its legacy, linked to the Bayeux Tapestry's exhibition at the British Museum. The castle grounds are free to enjoy and Hastings can be seen daily, but other admissions apply if you want to visit the rest of the castle.
