Fiends, Flames & Folklore is a Halloween evening at Itchen Valley Country Park, an alternative to trick or treating. Visitors follow a spooky lit-up twilight trail, watch a fire juggling show (performances at 6pm and 7.30pm), toast marshmallows round the flames (vegan marshmallows available, and children must be supervised by a parent or adult while toasting) and make a sweet-treat craft to take home. Tickets must be booked in advance and cost £10 per person, with an arrival slot of either 5pm or 6.30pm (gates open 4.50pm). Babies in arms go free with a paying adult, and a carer accompanying a ticket holder who needs assistance can also attend free if arranged in advance by email. The recommended order is to do the trail first, then catch the fire show. The Woodland Café is open until 8pm serving snacks and hot and cold drinks, with vegetarian and vegan options, and hot dogs available at £4 each but only if pre-ordered by 26 October and collected before 7pm. Only assistance dogs are allowed, and standard car park charges apply on top of the ticket price.
