Twinkling lights, woodland fairies and Father Christmas visits at Gibside this winter, running November 2026 to January 2027.

Gibside's Georgian landscape garden gets a festive makeover, with twinkling lights strung through the grounds, woodland fairies to spot along the way and playful encounters with Father Christmas. It runs from November 2026 through to January 2027, giving families plenty of chances to wrap up warm and wander the estate's woodland and historic ruins in a wintry setting. Standard admission applies to visit Gibside, with under 5s going free, family tickets covering up to 3 children, and free entry for National Trust members. There's also 25% off admission if you show a valid bus ticket. Car parking is free. Do bear in mind that the coffee shop and Pizza Pit run reduced hours over the colder months, generally opening at weekends and during school holidays, so it's a good idea to bring a flask or picnic if you're visiting on a quieter weekday.
