Worm Weekend at Down House

Hands-on worm sampling and Darwin's earthworm experiments in the gardens at Down House.

Charles Darwin's former home, Down House, spends the weekend of 24 and 25 October exploring the world of earthworms. Visitors can learn about the different types of earthworm and take part in hands-on worm sampling in the gardens, following in the footsteps of Darwin's own experiments into earthworm behaviour. The activities run from 10am to 3pm on both days and are included with general admission to Down House, so no extra ticket is needed beyond your entry. Booking early saves 15%, and English Heritage members go free.
