Scratch night showcasing new work in progress from four artists of South Asian heritage, recommended for ages 12+.
An evening of fresh ideas from four artists of South Asian heritage, each presenting a 10-15 minute piece of work in development. The line-up includes Dashaavatar, a Bharatanatyam dance piece on the ten incarnations of Lord Vishnu; Only Fools and Punjabis, a true story of a Pakistani migrant building a life in 1970s Glasgow's second-hand car trade; Uboor (Crossing): Between Departures, a piece exploring memory and identity rooted in South Asian storytelling; and these hands are utensils too, a spoken word piece on privilege and culture. The night is curated and presented by South Asian Artists in Scotland (SAAS), founded by Niloo-Far Khan and Kal Sabir. It takes place in the Studio Theatre at Citizens Theatre on 8 October 2026, running 90 minutes from 7.45pm. Tickets are £5 plus a £1.50 booking fee per transaction. The performances contain strong language and reference to racism, and are recommended for ages 12 and over. Afterwards, audiences are invited to the Event Studio for vegetable pakora provided by Namak Mandi. A free essential companion ticket is available with an Access Pass, and the Studio has retractable seating with level access only in row A plus hearing aid induction loops.
